Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, IPPFAR operates through its Member Associations (MAs) and Collaborative Partners in 36 countries across sub-Saharan Africa. The overarching goal of IPPFAR is to increase access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services for the most vulnerable youth, men, and women in the region.
IPPFAR is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare coverage to its local staff and their dependents. The mission of IPPFAR includes ensuring equitable access to health and wellbeing services, thus supporting its employees through robust healthcare benefits. Given its regional footprint, IPPFAR requires a health insurance provider with a solid network in Kenya to facilitate effective healthcare access for local staff.
IPPFAR seeks a health insurance provider willing to enter into a service agreement covering an initial 2-year term, subject to annual renewals and periodic reviews of terms and conditions. The insurance coverage will be limited to the employee, their spouse or declared partner, and up to three dependent children.
The selected health insurance provider will be required to offer the following services:
- In-Patient Treatment
- Provide in-patient care for employees and their dependents through a cashless system.
- Cover hospitalization costs up to a specified limit, with maximum daily room rate coverage.
- Ensure access to a broad network of healthcare providers throughout Kenya to facilitate cashless treatments.
- Out-Patient Treatment
- Offer out-patient coverage for staff and dependents on a cashless basis.
- Include routine consultations, specialist consultations, diagnostic tests, and treatments, all subject to annual limits.
- Preventive Care
- Provide coverage for preventive healthcare services, including vaccinations, screenings, and wellness check-ups.
- Medical Evacuation and Repatriation
- Ensure 24-hour emergency evacuation and repatriation services, including tele-medical consultation and coordination of necessary transport and hospitalization.
- Provide additional support services, such as dispatch of medicine, interpreter services, legal referrals, and care for minor children in emergencies.
Eligibility: This bid is open to health insurance companies and brokers. Brokers must provide an authorization letter from the insurance company they represent.
Bid Submission: The health insurance proposal should adhere to the requested benefits and include:
- In-patient and out-patient benefits
- Network coverage
- Premium pricing
- General conditions and exclusions
