Videographer Terms of Reference
Position: Videographer and Photographer
Location: Ethiopia, Addis Abeba, Makelle, Gondar
Duration: 2 months

Objectives
1. To capture and create engaging visual stories that highlight the work and impact of 8 Civil Society Organizations (CSO).
2. To produce high-quality video and photographic content.
3. To film interviews with key stakeholders and beneficiaries to complement the visual content with personal narratives.
4. To edit the 8 videos (6-7 mins max), adding b roll, non-copyrighted background music if appropriate, subtitles in English and French, any relevant graphic elements, and opening and closing frames as per the FON branding guidelines.
5. To produce high quality photographic content accompanied with their captions.
Scope of Work:

Videography and Photography:
- Collaborate with FON and the 8 CSOs to understand their missions, key messages, and target audiences.
- Travel to different locations within Addis Ababa and Makelle to capture high-quality video and photographic content.
- Conduct on-site interviews with key stakeholders, including CSO staff, beneficiaries, and community members.

Editing and Post-Production
- Edit video footage to create polished and engaging stories, adding b roll, non-copyrighted background music if appropriate, subtitles in English and French, any relevant graphic elements, and opening and closing frames as per the FON branding guidelines.
- Edit photographs for publication and dissemination (Raw). Photos should be captioned properly.
Delivery of Content
- Provide FON with raw footage and high-resolution images.
- Deliver edited video segments and photographic compilations as per the agreed schedule.
- Ensure all content aligns with FON’s branding and messaging guidelines.
Deliverables
- Raw video footage and high-resolution photographs from each CSO.
- 8 Edited videos showcasing each CSO, including interviews and narrative segments.
- A portfolio of at least 160 edited photographs ready for publication.
Deadline 1 month from capture: 27th October 2024
Qualifications:
- Native proficiency in both English and Amharic.
- Excellent command of a professional camera.
- Proven experience in photography and videography for development.
- Familiarity with storytelling and video editing.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- It is essential to portray survivors with dignity, avoiding any depiction as victims. Additionally, the videographer will be briefed on filming and photographing survivors of GBV with strict guidelines, including avoiding identifiable physical characteristics and not showing any locations that could reveal the survivor's identity (e.g., the entrance of their house or door).
