The IPPF humanitarian is leading a training for regional office staff and Member Associations (MAs) in the Africa region assessed to have a high risk for man-made or natural crises. Participating MAs include those from Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Niger and Nigeria.
IPPF is a locally owned, globally connected civil society movement.
We work to ensure people are free to make choices about their sexuality and wellbeing, in a world without discrimination.
Building on a proud history of over 65 years of achievement, we commit to lead a locally owned, globally connected civil society movement that provides and enables services and champions sexual and reproductive health and rights for all, especially the under-served.
In 2020, IPPFAR Member Associations provided a total of 105,429,716 sexual and reproductive health and rights services, representing close to half of the total number of SRHR services delivered by IPPF that year. Women received 89% of the services provided, while young people accounted for 55% of the total SRHR services provided.
IPPF works in 142 countries to provide help, advice, services and supplies relating to any aspect of sexual and reproductive health. These services are delivered through an IPPF Member Association (MA).
MAs are IPPF accredited organizations within country. In Africa the Regional Office, we count 33 locally-owned Member Associations and 6 collaborative partners in 39 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
