Deputy Team Leader Finance & Operations - WISH 2

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service provider and one of the leading advocates for universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all. IPPF is a worldwide movement of 120 national organizations, referred to as Member Associations, working with and for communities and individuals. These member associations are the leading civil society providers of contraception in 89 of 120 countries. And in 64 of those 89 countries, IPPF is the only largescale international provider. Collectively, member associations delivered more than 1 billion cumulative services between 2016 and 2022.  Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, the overarching goal of IPPFAR is to increase access to SRHR services to the most vulnerable youth, men, and women in sub-Saharan Africa. Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) WISH 2 is one of three components of the overarching WISH Dividend programme that is being procured by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).  This programme is central to delivering the UK’s priorities on empowering women and girls as set out in the International Development Strategy, the UK’s strategic approach to sub-Saharan Africa and the International Women and Girls Strategy. WISH 2 will be divided into two geographic Lots. IPPFAR is planning on submitting a bid as the prime for Lot 2 which covers Burundi, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Zambia. The Commercial Manager should have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with people from different countries and cultures. They should have strong analytical skills. Knowledge of financial reporting systems such as SUN and Netsuite is an advantage. They should have fluent English verbal and written communication skills with French and/or Arabic being an advantage. The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service provider and one of the leading advocates for universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all. WISH 2 will be divided into two geographic Lots. IPPFAR is planning on submitting a bid as the prime for Lot 2 which covers Burundi, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Zambia. The Role The Senior Research Manager sits in the MERL Team, under the supervision of the Deputy Director, MERL and is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of programme-related research activities including the annual client exit interview (CEI) and poverty surveys across all the Lot 2 countries of implementation. Specifically, the Senior Research Manager will design and update the survey methodology, train local Country Managers and M&E teams on the methodology, tools and processes, oversee smooth and efficient data collection across all the country implementation sites selected, and in conjunction with the M&E manager, ensure that data is analysed accordingly and report on the findings. The Research Manager is an experienced researcher of large-scale surveys and other data collection initiatives. They should have substantial experience working in a research position with a particular focus on programmatic surveys and operational studies for multi-country programmes, knowledge of major evaluation methodologies and experience in designing and managing large-scale surveys. The Senior Research Manager should have excellent interpersonal skills. They should have Fluent English verbal and written communication skills. French and/or Arabic is an advantage. They will possess significant experience managing large scale institutionally funded programmes with a preference for experience with FCDO.
